My husband and I stayed at this hotel for a week. There is so much choice in Paris you should avoid this hotel at all costs. To charge the rate they did for such a room was not fair and incredibly expensive for what it was. I would say that the other rooms are better but I'm sure the walls will be just as paper thin and the receptionist equally miserable. Don't run the risk of staying here and ending up in the street room. He was rude, unhelpful and dismissive - a great way to start your holiday. The member of staff we encountered on arrival was incredibly miserable as other guests have said in their review and we felt like we interrupted him. It felt like a basement and offered terrible privacy.
Thank you and best regards in latin windows#
As all the windows are adjacent to the street you can't open the curtains when getting ready or the window for fresh air. It was an absolutely terrible sleep every single night and an atrocious place to stick a room. It is literally next to the reception desk (you don't even walk through the hotel to get to the room door!) and as result you can hear the receptionist pottering about outside your room all night, not to mention all the other guests talking in the lobby during the morning and the constant footfall of traffic outside the room. The hotel has paper thin walls and this room should NEVER have been a room in the first place. The room we stayed in was on street level and incredibly loud, it felt like you were sleeping on the pavement with cars constantly running past your head. That being said I would definitely stay here again! We ended up carrying our money and passports around with us for the whole trip (5 days), not a major issue but would have been more ideal to keep them in a safe place. We asked reception for help and they sent someone, who managed to open it with a key (slightly troubling), however they couldn't remove the key unless the bolts were in the ‘locked' position, so we were left with an unusable safe. Staff were friendly and helpful, my only issue was that our safety deposit box in the wardrobe seemed to be locked open, so that we could not close the door fully as the 2 deadbolts were engaged, and we couldn't move them without a code. The room was lovely, more than enough space as well as a spacious shower (no bath but neither of us use a bath often). A few bars and cafes close by and very close to a bus stop and metro station so easy access to the central area of the city. Me and my partner stayed here for a short break in Paris and were very pleased. One more thing the toilet seat is tilted. Can totally pay the same price somewhere else for a better one. I don't even want to talk to anyone in that hotel afterwards. The only other thing he said is I'll take care of it. I asked if he needs to write down anything and he said no. I also told a third guy at the reception angrily and of course he didn't even write down our room number. After that I put the chair behind the door every night cos it can block the door from opening. I was gonna chase the person down cos it's my instinctive reaction. So we shouted no and the door was closed. The knock only woke me up and I was just thinking if I heard it right cos the walls are really thin. Then another morning, someone knocked on the door once at 8:30 and then quickly opened the door while we were in bed. And I even said sorry cos I felt a bit scared like I offended him somehow. Then I got a pretty hostile looking from another guy at the reception desk. On another night when we came back, I didn't notice the front door was closed and I need to signal staff inside to open, so I just pushed hard as usual. We tried to signal him that we want to go but he didn't pick up any. After we got the key, he went on chatting. When we checked in, the guy at the reception desk kept chatting with my boyfriend in French without asking for any info to find out our reservation. My boyfriend and I stayed there for a week after New Year.
